Michael Major is a freelance science writer and documentary photographer currently based in Perth, Australia. He has worked as an environmental and agricultural communicator for 40 years in five continents. He holds a Master of Science degree in agricultural journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and started his career as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica. He later joined the teams at CATIE (Costa Rica), ICARDA (Syria) and CIAT (Colombia).
He served as Crop Trust’s science communications specialist from 2017 to 2020. He now services clients worldwide working in agricultural and environmental topics.
